  • Laura, great advice! I'm curious. When I added the code to my blog, I couldn't figure out how to change the heading. It reads something like, "Twitter Favorites of Ron_Hudson." Thanks for your help!
  • Laura, this is a fantastic tool that I never knew about. Thanks for sharing and for the very easy-to-follow video walk-through. I'm bookmarking your site!
  • Awesome! great tool. Thanks.

Great video Laura. As someone knee deep in the social media trenches every day, I'm surprised I hadn't come across this neat use of RSS for favorites/searches. I'll definitely look at how to integrate.. and looking forward to your webinar tomorrow!

    Laura...
Great tip! Got mine on my site in less than 5 minutes: http://www.FuneralFuturist.com/
Awesome that it can be controlled elsewhere and automatically updated.
    Thanks!

Brilliant, Laura -- and to think of all the teleseminars I do without ever mentioning hashtags. No more! Thanks for the great tip.

Thank you so much Laura! This is my first video I've watched from you and I can't wait to see more! Extremely helpful and easy to follow. I love that you also gave us the tips (like using hashtags!) and that you made this so easy to follow.

I set one up in less than 5 minutes on my personal blog! http://cevraini.wordpress.com

I am sooooo going to use this as I startup my business website! Fantastic!
  • I really liked the hash tags tip. That's an excellent easy tip for both branding and search.

    Thanks Laura

Laura - I have been using the favorite section to hold testimonies for a while, but never thought of using the RSS. Thanks for the clear and detailed video and for the RSS resource.
    To your success!
    Stephanie
  • Nice, that is going to make this task ridiculously easy for you!
  • Laura @lkr Great tutorial! Thank you - I created my favorites feed here: http://lindaeaves.com/
  • Woohoo, love all these fast action takers!!
  • Your interesting. I have seldom been impressed by people . But the interesting part about you is that you delivered a unique way to do something that (your right) is sometimes rough to do. I am going through my twitter favs and you know what Laura? I am revisiting a years worth of favs that are BLOWING my mind LOL! people I want to catch up to etc. So thank you for the idea and overall for Twitter vets like myself it is amazing.
  • Thank you Darren, that is a really great compliment. :) And glad to hear that even a "twitter vet" found this tip useful!

    Thanks Laura
I will get onto this straight away. In your opinion how long should a telecast be?
  • An hour is pretty standard, but I think anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours works!
  • liamlusk
Thanks for your very quick reply Laura.
It's great to get an answer. So many times people don't answer questions.

    Thanks again - its appreciated.

  • Laura - Thx for another helpful and informative video - good stuff! Looking forward to your webinar on the 11th.
  • Love it, love it, love it! Once I get some chatter going, I'm going to definitely do this. THANK YOU!
  • Laura, this was great, and even a code allergic type like me was able to make it work in just a few minutes with your crystal-clear instructions. Thanks!

You can check out the final result here: http://www.bigbrandsystem.com
  • Yes! Thanks to you this is now officially code-allergic approved!
  • Hi Laura, I love this. I've been using tweets as testimonials for a while now but I'm too embarrassed to admit the complicated process I was using (it involves the print screen key - need I say more? he he). Now I can set it and forget it and the cool thing is how it automatically updates through the feed. Love the added step of using the favorite feature in Twitter to protect the integrity of the feed ;) Great stuff! ~ Gina
  • Hehe I have used print screen before as well, that is a nice way to capture them with picture and everything so don't be TOO embarrassed! ;)
  • This was awesome! So intuitive, yet I never thought of it myself. Thanks!!
  • Hi Laura!

Thank you so much for the step-by-step video on how to create nonstop testimonials! Following your tutorial, I quickly & easily created my own "testimonial showcase" on my site. :D http://bit.ly/bPBkyh.

    Thanks again!
    Heather
  • Laura, what is your advice for bloggers who have yet to create a product and are just focusing on information - for creating a webinar? I'd love to know your thoughts on that.
Also the "testimonial" is similar as a re-tweet more or less? The example you read was a good one but distinguishing is key on that.....
Thanks!!! Great video. And yes, not #UWB but cute :)!
  • You could still hold a free webinar or teleseminar related to the topic of your blog, just for fun/education. Maybe put together a panel of bloggers and host a panel discussion.

You could use a retweet, I think it is best if the tweet contains some original commentary as well though. "RT [post headline]" would not be a great testimonial but "Incredible, thought provoking post - RT [post headline]" would be good though. Does that make sense? Also what's cool about this method is how flexible it is - if you just wanted to show off how much a post got retweeted you could use an RSS feed for that as well.
  • Right, that makes sense. Thank you. Alright, you put me up to a contest with Creating Fans out of Thin Air, which went great. Now I am doing a 2nd contest which has been a bit challenging in drawing any attention to, so I am learning from it, even though I am giving away a free amazon book of choice. Interesting what we think would work and what the response is. Thanks Laura!!!
  • I loved this. Great strategy! I'm not sure how I would implement this since, as a comedy writer, I am essentially selling myself. So I'd have to get creative about what my live telecast/tweet would be for. But at least now the wheels are turning.
    Thanks!
  • Hey Chase, I actually think this one is pretty clear for you - tweets that say "that was hilarious" "dying laughing at this blog post'', etc. Show that real people are reading your stuff and enjoying it!
  • Good point! I was too focused on the live telecast part. I need to get better at asking for good feedback.
  • What a great tip! I'm definitely going to integrate this into my marketing toolkit. Thanks!
  • Great job! I love how detailed you were in communicating the instructions; very smart to not take for granted that people will know how to do what so many of us do as second nature.

    Loved it!
  • I just love watching your videos, Laura. Step by step has really helped me in my business, and has inspired me to do the same types of videos (Quickbooks) for my clients. Thanks so much for another great lesson!
  • Awesome Rebecca! And I know quickbooks how-to videos are sorely needed (I can figure out pretty much any software but NOT that one!)
  • Bummer, I was hoping you could help me. I just started quickbooks!
  • Thanks! This has been helpful. I'm looking forward to your webinar next week.
  • Pete
    You keep saying "U W B" but it is in-fact "U Y B" . Is this a deliberate mistake?
  • Haha no just a mistake! Hope it's not too distracting.
  • lol. It was a charming mistake!
